Hi, I’m Nuseibah

The teacher and creator behind Arabist Academy.
After years of giving private Arabic lessons online, I wanted to create something more structured, a clear path that helps students practice reading, writing, and listening before class, so we can spend our live sessions focusing on real conversation and building fluency.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and its Literature and a Bachelor of Theology from the University of Jordan. For over eight years, I’ve taught students from more than fifteen countries at the University of Jordan, Sijal Institute, and Qasid Institute, and as a Fulbright scholar at Carleton College in the U.S. I’ve also worked with learners worldwide through Preply and Verbling.

My teaching combines structure with authenticity, every lesson connects language to culture, expression, and everyday life.

My goal is simple: to help you speak Arabic with confidence and feel at home in the language.

How I Teach Arabic

Arabist Academy is built on a scaffolded learning system, each module builds naturally on what came before it.
You’ll start with simple structures and vocabulary, then gradually layer in new grammar, pronunciation, and conversation skills until you can speak with confidence.

I also follow the flipped classroom approach:
students study materials and drills before class, reading, writing, and listening on their own, so that live sessions are focused entirely on speaking practice and real communication.

Finally, every lesson is rooted in immersion.
You’ll hear native pronunciation, see words used in real-life contexts, and understand how culture and language shape each other.
This method turns learning into living, helping you think and feel in Arabic, not just translate it.
